Adhering to a strict soft cloth cleaning discipline preserves the flawless 3D weave aesthetic and ensures the outer shell remains pristine.

The tools used to clean the composite shell are just as critical as the cleaning process itself. Choosing the wrong textile can permanently damage the finish.

The Premium Textile Standard

Always audit your cleaning gear before it makes contact with the helmet finish:

  • Microfiber Preference Only use clean, high-density, edgeless microfiber cloths. Microfiber features split-fiber technology that lifts and traps microscopic grit away from the surface, rather than dragging particles across the clear coat.
  • Avoid Paper Products Never utilize paper towels, facial tissues, or generic cotton rags. Wood-pulp fibers inherent in paper products and coarse stitching in common kitchen rags act as mild abrasives, inflicting micro-scratches over time.

Execution and Technique

Improper wiping pressure and motion can trap fine road debris against the resin matrix, mimicking the effects of fine sandpaper.

Pre-Wipe Lubrication Never dry-wipe a dusty helmet. Always dampen your microfiber cloth with lukewarm water or a dedicated pH-neutral helmet cleaner first. This provides essential surface lubrication, allowing surface grime to lift safely.
Linear Motion Discipline Wipe the surface using light, linear motions. Avoid heavy circular scrubbing, as circular wiping patterns create visible swirl marks that permanently distort reflections under direct lighting.
Chemical Solvent Restriction Completely avoid aggressive chemical solvents such as acetone, benzene, thinner, or abrasive kitchen cleaners. These harsh compounds chemically degrade the UV protective clear coat and permanently weaken the underlying composite epoxy layer.
